Hello again! Another classic food that I chose to try and make was pancakes. Since I had made healthier pancakes before, I thought that this one would be particularly easy. Also, who doesn’t love a good pancake, right?
I began by changing the type of flour I used. Instead of all-purpose flour, I decided to use oat flour. Oat flour provided more nutrients to the pancakes, rather than only adding starch and carbohydrates. I decided to use Truvia, rather than use sugar (again, carbohydrates), and I used applesauce (instead of butter).
“They taste healthy, but they are still really good!” -- A senior friend
When I tried my pancakes, I used honey to top them off. I thought that the honey flavor paired very well with the earthy flavor of the oats. When I brought them to school, most people enjoyed them better with normal syrup. I guess not everything could be substituted. 😊
As with all the other recipes I tried, everyone loved the pancakes. Many people thought that the flavor was minutely different from normal pancakes; however, this did not change how much people enjoyed them.
I would consider this recipe a huge success. Everyone loved the pancakes, and they all said that they could definitely consider eating these pancakes, instead of normal pancakes.
